Joyce A. Iliff, 69 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne. She was born on Friday, March 3, 1939 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of the late Howard Cray Iliff and the late Marcella Irene (Betz) Iliff. She attended the Decatur Church of God and was a member of the National Education Association and the Adams County Literacy Council. She also served on the Step Ahead Council and the Even Start Advisory Council. Joyce retired in May of 2006 from Huntington Library with six years of service. She had worked at Roanoke Library from 1998 to 2000, the Decatur Public Library from 1985 to 1997 and the Muncie Library from 1981 to 1985. She was also a former elementary school teacher in Decatur and Indianapolis. Surviving are her sister, Jan (Walter) Lewis of Gaston, Indiana, sister, Jerry (Mike) Sullivan of Warner Robins, Georgia, sister, Joann (Larry) Strickler of Fishers, Indiana, sister, Dr. Julia (Lester) Bickel of Warren, Indiana, and twelve nieces & nephews. Preceding Joyce in death was one sister, June Smith. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 in the Decatur Church of God with Pastor Sandy Hildebrand officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday in the Decatur Church of God prior to the funeral service. Preferred memorials are to Decatur Church of God.
