Loyd E. Bradtmueller, 66 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in the St. Joseph Hospital located in Fort Wayne. He was born on Friday, August 29, 1941 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Lawrence Bradtmueller and the late Alma (Bunker) Bradtmueller. He married Paula L. Roehm on October 28, 1961 in Willshire, Ohio. Loyd was a member of Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland, Indiana and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and doing woodworking & yard work. He was a lifetime farmer and retired in February of 2003 from Masonlite with eighteen years of service. He had also previously worked at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, Indiana for thirteen years. Surviving are his wife, Paula L. Bradtmueller of Hoagland, Indiana, daughter, Brenda Bradtmueller of Hoagland, Indiana, son, Rod Bradtmueller of Hoagland, Indiana, daughter, Charlene (Matt) Weaver of Convoy, Ohio, daughter, Jennifer (Ted) Beery of Hoagland, Indiana, brother, Gilbert (Marilyn) Bradtmueller of New Haven, Indiana, sister, Florine Kiefer of New Haven, Indiana, sister, Wilda (Norman) Scheumann of Preble, Indiana, sister, Annette (Don) Werling of New Haven, Indiana, eight grandchildren; Melonie Bradtmueller, Alexis Beery, Merisha Bradtmueller, Ashley Beery, Miriah Bradtmueller, Cole Beery, Tiffany Weaver & Hannah Weaver, great-grandchildren, Aubrey Bradtmueller and the anticipated birth of his second great-grandchild in January of 2009. Preceding Loyd in death were one sister, Velma Macke and two brothers, Victor & Wilbert Bradtmueller. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 in the Antioch Lutheran Church, Hoagland, Indiana with Pastor Dick Vonish officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 4 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to Antioch Lutheran Church or to the family. The family would like to give a special thank you to Lori McGill for her loving care of Uncle Loyd.
