Curtis P. Jones, 76 years old of New Haven, Indiana, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009 in the Dekalb Memorial located in Auburn, Indiana. Curtis was born on Friday, February 10, 1933 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late William Jones and the late Myrtle M. Manley. Curtis first attended school at Mt. Pleasant in Decatur (a one room schoolhouse) where he met Judy McKean, at age 7. Judy moved to Decatur and attended Decatur High School. Curtis soon followed, moving to Decatur with his Mother. Curtis started high school at Monmouth, but later transferred to Decatur High School where he was reunited with Judy. They both then graduated from Decatur High School in 1951. Life took them in different directions, but they were reunited again in 1957, began dating, and were eventually married on December 12, 1959 in Decatur, Indiana. Curtis was a member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge #25 in Fort Wayne and Redman's Lodge in Decatur. Curtis retired from International Harvester in 1983 with 24 years of service. Following the closing of Internationial Harvester, he worked at the Auburn Foundry until 1998. Surviving are his wife, Judith M. Jones of New Haven, IN, daughter, D'Ann M. (Robert) Cour of Fort Wayne, IN, son, Gregory C. Jones of Fort Wayne, IN, daughter, Sandra R. (Darren) Bailey of Fort Wayne, IN, son, P. David Jones of New Haven, IN, sister, Doris Koomler of Decatur, IN, and two grandchildren: Jacqueline Cour and Travis Briner. Preceding Curtis in death was one brother, Miles Jones Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Stan buck officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
