James Logan Ball, 72 years old of West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, November 11, 1934 in Morgan County, Kentucky the son of the late Quincy Ball and the late Mary Elizabeth (Keeton) Ball. He married Martha "Marty" Sell on January 1, 1955 in Kentucky. They lived in Decatur from 1955 to 1964 and then in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 1964 to 1991 before moving to Kentucky. He was a member of the Local 414 Teamsters in Fort Wayne, Indiana and retired from Kroger's Warehouse in 1991. Surviving are his wife, Martha Ball of West Liberty, Kentucky, son, Ronnie (Debbie) Ball of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Karen Oliver of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Sharon (Steve) Hockenberry of Hoagland, Indiana, daughter, Bev Berry of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Ray Ball of Butler, Indiana, brother, William Ball of Bluffton, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Richard (Geneva) Kaiser of Bluffton, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Dorothy Costello, Florida, sister, Dana Gail Dyer of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Flora Wright of Bluffton, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Robert (Frieda) Springer of Decatur, Indiana, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Preceding James in death were one brother, Jesse Ball, one sister, Annie Springer and one grandson, D.J. Oliver. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. William Wayne Ball officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, April 20 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
