Lawrence Calvin ""Bing"" Gallogly, 79 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:54 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His death was unexpected, and resulted from complications from heart surgery. Bing was born on July 5, 1928 in Decatur, Indiana the Son of the late Lawrence Dewey Gallogly and the late Hazel (Smitley) Gallogly. He married Arlene McClure on December 11, 1954 in the Bethany E.U.B. Church in Decatur, Indiana. Lawrence served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bing had a 47 year career at Indiana & Michigan Electric Company; owner/operator of B & G Construction; a partner in Decatur Tire Center; and owner of Mortgage Hill Cattle Farm. Surviving are his wife, Arlene Gallogly of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Myrna (Ed) Stanczak of Cumming, Georgia; son, Tom Gallogly of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Nan Johnson of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Kimberly (Jeff) Myers of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Stanley "Deak" Gallogly of Decatur, Indiana; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two step-great-grandchildren. Preceding Lawrence in death were daughter, Amy Sue Gallogly (1967); two sisters, Claudine Noll and Betty Andrews; and one brother, Dore Gallogly (killed in action during WW II). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Abbott officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to donor's choice.
