Lynn F. Meyer, 70 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009 in the Parkview Hospital E.R., Fort Wayne after being stricken at his home. He was born on Tuesday, May 23, 1939 in Allen County, Indiana the son of the late Ludwig Meyer and the late Rosella F. (Maloy) Meyer. He married Janet M. Moore on June 20, 1964 in Payne, Ohio. Lynn was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville and a former member of the church Financial Committee. He was a former member & fire chief of the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department and a former board member of Fort Wayne National Bank, Monroeville. He was also a former member of the American Legion Color Guard Post #420 of Monroeville and the Monroeville Lion's Club. Lynn was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1957. He was the Dealer Principal of Meyer Auto Sales in Monroeville, where he had been employed for 54 years. He enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Janet M. Meyer of Monroeville, three sons; Ludwig T. Meyer & Chadwick M. (Jeni) Meyer both of Monroeville and Erick A. (Katherine) Meyer of Anderson, Indiana, three daughters; Mrs. Ron (Jenell M.) Harkenrider of Fort Wayne, Jeanine M. (fiance' Dan Distelrath) Oberley of New Haven & Mrs. Todd (Jeanett L.) Hoffman of Monroeville, four brothers, Dr. Bruce T. (Barbara) Meyer of Flora, Indiana, Max J. (Fay) Meyer, Louie (Pat) Meyer & Philip A. (Ava) Meyer all of Monroeville and ten grandchildren; Maegan & Kristin Oberley, Lucas & Evelyn Harkenrider, Anna & Brooke Hoffman and Elise, Heidi, Kali & Kobe Meyer. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery with Military Graveside Services. Friends will be received from noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville. A Rosary will be held at noon on Tuesday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Masses at Church, Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department or the Heritage Band.
