Edna Mae Bleeke, 74 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born on Sunday, May 20, 1934 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Rhynard) Bailey. She married Vernand F. "Dutch" Bleeke on April 22, 1952 in Adams County, Indiana and he passed away on January 13, 2005. Edna was a homemaker and a member of the Home Economics Club. Surviving are her son, David L. Bleeke of Auburn, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Carl (Allene) Hower of Woodburn, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Mark (Claudine)Russell of Uniondale, Indiana, son, Rick Bleeke of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Ron (Devota) Hess of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Janice Barr of Monroeville, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Jerry (Evelyn) Ickes of Montpelier, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Brady (Kathleen) McCoy of Henderson, Kentucky, sister, Joyce Ayres of Celina, Ohio, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren. Preceding Edna in death were one sister, Esther Giessler and two brothers, Wilbur Bailey and Richard Bailey. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from noon to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 15 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association or the Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana.
