Eugene J. "Gene" Duff

Eugene J. "Gene" Duff, 87 years old of Willshire, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 in the Hancock Regional Hospital located in Greenfield, Indiana. Gene was born on Monday, October 30, 1922 in Chattanooga, Ohio the son of the late Jacob Duff and the late Rosa (Bucky) Duff. He married Dolores M. Hoblet on December 21, 1940 in Burlington, Kentucky and she survives. Gene was a member of the Countryside Church of the Nazarene in Willshire, Ohio where he served as a Sunday School teacher, board member, and worship leader for many years. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Gene graduated from Willshire High School in 1940 and retired as the plant manager of MEMCOR in Huntington, Indiana after twenty years of service. Surviving are his wife, Dolores M. Duff of Willshire, Ohio, son, David Duff of Indianapolis, Indiana, son, Jerald Duff of Dayton, Ohio, daughter, Linda Wicks, of California, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. Preceding Eugene in death was one son, John Duff. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana with Rev. Carol Tumbleson officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 43 of Decatur. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, Ohio. Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to World Missions; or Countryside Church of the Nazarene.
