Frederick L. Hoffman, 67 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at his residence after a brief illness. Fred was born on Wednesday, April 22, 1942 in Monroeville, Indiana the son of the late Nicholas Hoffman and the late Edna (Herderhorst) Hoffman. He married Susan K. Ball on August 3, 1962 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and she survives. Fred was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Flatrock. He was an active farmer and enjoyed the outdoors. Fred retired from International Harvester Company in Ft. Wayne, Indiana after 23 years of service and also retired from Goeglein's Catering in Ft. Wayne after 17 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Susan K. Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Cynthia (Douglas) Bergdall of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Catherine Shull of Farmland, Indiana; son, Larry Hoffman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, Paul (Renisea) Hoffman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; brother, Kenneth Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana; and nine grandchildren Preceding Fred in death was Paul Hoffman (infant brother).
