Kevin DuWayne Sorgen, 54 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Parkview Hospital ER after he was stricken suddenly at home. He was born on Wednesday, May 25, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late D. DuWayne Sorgen and Elizabeth Ann (Waller) Sorgen. He married Mary Scott on September 21, 1974 in Monroeville, Indiana. Kevin was a lifelong farmer. He was a 4-H leader and former board member of the Allen County 4-H program. He was a farm toy collector and loved auctions and his grandkids. Surviving are his wife, Mary Sorgen of Monroeville, son, Phil (Jill) Sorgen of Convoy, Ohio, daughter, Sarah (Christopher) Wolf of Fort Wayne, daughter, Theresa (Steve) Sorgen-Burleson of Woodburn, mother, Beth Sorgen of Monroeville, sister, Karen (Brian) Hoeppner of Woodburn, brother, Keith Sorgen of Monroeville and his beloved grandchildren; Austin & Adeline Sorgen, Nathan Wolf and Baby Burleson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Pastor William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Preferred memorials are to Monroeville Fire Department.
