Parnell L. "Wimp" Brames, 72 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at his residence following a six months illness. Parnell was born on Thursday, November 21, 1935 in Monroeville, Indiana, the son of the late Paul L. Brames and the late Marie (Minnich) Brames. He married Gertrude F. Renninger on June 21, 1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church-Hessen Cassel. Parnell was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana. Parnell retired in 1997 from Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire in Ft. Wayne, Indiana with 32 years of service and retired from farming in 2002. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude F. Brames of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Jeremy P. Brames (partner, Brian Stockman) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son, Josh P. Brames (fiance, Stacey Walter) of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Richard (Renee S.) Pyle of Woodburn, Indiana, sister, Annabelle Bacon of New Haven, Indiana, sister, Eileen Morton of Fort Wayne, Indiana, three grandchildren: Nathan Pyle, Nicholas Pyle and Emma Brames, two great-grandchildren: Cameron Christen and Cylie Pyle. Preceding Parnell in death were one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Pyle; two brothers, Byron and Kenneth Brames and one sister, Rosemary Shanebeck. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:35 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
