Bobby F. McKinnon, 63 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at his residence. He died unexpectedly. Bobby was born on November 24, 1943 in Nathan, Arkansas, the son of the late Charles A. McKinnon and the late Lena M. (Couch) McKinnon. He married Ruth Ann Koenig on June 10, 1967 in East Liberty United Methodist Church in rural Monroeville, Indiana and she survives. Bobby was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana; a former member of the Monroeville Lions Club; a member of the Men's Monroeville Golf League and the American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville. He had been a member of the Beta Chapter of Epsilon pi Tau Fraternity; Decatur High School graduate Class of 1962; received his Bachelor and Master's Degrees from Ball State University. Bobby served his country in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam Era. Bobby retired in 2001 from East Allen County Schools. He had taught Industrial Arts & Auto Mechanics at Harding High School and Woodlan High School near Woodburn, Indiana. Surviving are his wife, Ruth A. McKinnnon of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Mark A. (Susan K.) McKinnon of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, granddaughter, Emily Kay McKinnon, granddaughter, Rachel Marie McKinnon, brother, Jimmy W. (Sally) McKinnon of Nashville, Arkansas, brother, Ronnie (Kathy) McKinnon of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, brother, Danny R. McKinnon of Nashville, Arkansas, brother, Larry C. (Pam) McKinnon of Nashville, Arkansas, sister, Mrs. Lyn (Bonnie Sue) Graves of Cove, Arkansas, sister, Mrs. Dennis (Shirley M.) Smithson of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, sister, Mrs. Robby (Barbara A.) Westfall of Nashville, Arkansas, brother-in-law, Rick Koenig of Decatur, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Bobby in death were one brother, Billy Don McKinnon, who passed away in infancy; and his mother-in-law, Lafauna Koenig. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Father Steve Colchin officiating. Interment will be next week in the Academy Cemetery, located in Nathan, Arkansas. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007 and from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Preferred memorials are to Monroeville EMS; or the Stanley Wissman Stroke Center at Parkview Hospital.
