Max Marshall McCrory, 91 years old of Montgomery, Michigan, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 in the Country Meadows Adult Foster Care Home located in Montgomery. Max was born on Tuesday, February 11, 1919 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Ralph W. McCrory and the late Evelynn (Marshall) McCrory. He married Billie Jean Krick on December 21, 1945 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and she survives. Max was a former member of the Forest Park United Methodist Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Max retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad as a brakeman with over 30 years of service. Max was a veteran of the United States Navy, being honorably discharged on October 22, 1945. He served during World War II where he attained the rank of Aviation Machinist Mate Second Class (AMM2). Surviving are his wife, Billie Jean McCrory of Montgomery, Michigan; daughter, Rea (Charles) Davis of Clarkston, Michigan; daughter, Kerry (Melvin) Hamrick of Fremont, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Lorrie Bilderback, DeeDee Jacobsen, Mary Kelley, Holly Cope, Joni Hamrick, Jason Davis, Matthew Davis; and fourteen grandchildren: Miranda Davis, Jacob Davis, Genevieve Davis, Ori Davis, Sam Bilderback, Lindsey Bilderback, Aiden Jacobsen, Owen Jacobsen, Hans Jacobsen, Klein Jacobsen, Kyler Cope, Calob Cope, Enrique Diaz, and Kendall Kelley. Preceding Max in death were one brother, Jack McCrory and one sister, Joan Torrance. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Felabom officiating. Interment will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton, Indiana. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Country Meadows Adult Foster Care Center in Montgomery, Michigan.
