David Allen Saylor

David Allen Saylor, 54 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away at 6:43 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at his residence; his death was unexpected and followed a chronic disability. David was born on Wednesday, September 7, 1955 in Smyrna, Tennessee the son of the late H. A. Saylor and Ethel Jean (Inman) Saylor who survives. He married Saralyn Graft on March 11, 1989 in Hamblen County, Tennessee and she survives. David was a former member of UAW Local 232 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana until his disability prevented him from working. A devoted Tennessee Volunteer Fan, David graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1973 with a degree in history. David was honorably discharged from the United States Air force in February 7, 1977. Surviving are his wife, Saralyn Graft-Saylor of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; step-daughter, Nicole (Andrew) Dennis-Hayes of Springfield, Ohio; step-son, Clifton Dennis of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Kathy (Larry) Lawson of Jefferson City, Tennessee; mother, Ethel Jean Saylor of Morristown, Tennessee; two grandchildren: Levi and Jude Hayes; two nieces: Alisha (Michael) Cobb, and Christanna (Travis) Langston; and two nephews: Sean and Aaron Saylor. Preceding David in death was his father, H. A. Saylor and his sister, Lisa Saylor-Stephenson. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Spira officiating. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Hamblen Memory Gardens in Morristown, Tennessee. Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana or Donor's Choice.
