Carol A. Gilliom, 62 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2006 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on Wednesday, November 24, 1943 in Zulu, Indiana the daughter of the late Alfred C. Thomas and the late Celeste M. (Oberley) Thomas. Carol was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1962. She was homemaker and had worked at the Woodburn Wire & Die Company for five years. She had also managed Azar's Coffee Shop on Coliseum Boulevard in Fort Wayne, Indiana for a few years. Surviving are her husband, David L. Gilliom of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Julie M. Allen of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son, Stephen R. (Ruth) Woods of Zulu, Indiana, son, Ron J. (Karla) Woods of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son, John E. Gilliom of Fort Wayne, Indiana, step-son, Scott D. Gilliom of Fort Wayne, Indiana, step-son, Steven L. Gilliom of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Susan M. MacDonald of Paulding, Ohio, sister, Kathy R. Clevenger of Zulu, Indiana, sister, Rita K. Rhymer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, brother, Donald E. Thomas of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Jerry P. Thomas of Fort Wayne, Indiana, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Preceding Carol in death were two brothers, Robert & Stephen Thomas and one sister, Sharon Wells. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis Catholic Church - Besancon with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery - Besancon. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorial are to masses at church or the Parkview Hospice.
