Robert Bieberich, 83, of Decatur, passed away Monday at 3:20 p.m. in the Woodcrest Nursing Center, Decatur. Robert was born to Henry and Eliza (Selking) Bieberich on June 17, 1922 in Adams County, Indiana. On June 23, 1951 Bob was united in marriage to Margaret E. Etzler at the St. John Lutheran Church, Convoy, Ohio. Bob served the county during WWII in the United States Army. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur and a former member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock in Monroeville. Bob was also a member of the American Legion Post #43 in Decatur. Along with is wife Margaret, he operated Bobs Sewing Center in Decatur for 24 years. Previously to owning his business Bob worked for International Harvester, in Fort Wayne. Survivors include his wife, Margaret E. Bieberich of Decatur, Indiana, son, Gregory L. Bieberich of Fort Wayne, daughter, Mrs. Jon (Cheryl A.) Kirst of Carefree, Arizona, daughter, Mrs. Jay (Janelle S.) Haggard of New Bern, North Carolina, three grandchildren, Matthew Bieberich of Germany, Melissa Carsten of Fort Wayne, Indiana, & Emily Haggard of New Bern, North Carolina, and two great-grandchildren Breanna and Dylan Bieberich both of Germany. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Bienz and Mildred Schoenherr and one brother, Louis Bieberich. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor Scott Bruick officiating. There will be Military honors conducted by American Legion Post # 43 following the service at the funeral home. Family will be receiving friends on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to Family Hospice of North East Indiana or to the Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur.
