Betty J. Fisher, 81 a life long resident of Decatur passed away at 11:25 a.m. Sunday in the Adams Memorial Hospital Decatur. She was born August 4, 1925 in Adams County to George & Lillie Kreps Fosnaugh, who are both deceased. Betty was united in marriage on September 14, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to Elmer J. Fisher. Elmer passed away on October 31, 1996. Betty was a member of the St.Marks United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary. She retired in 1978 from the Central Soya Company following 25 years of service. Survivors include her brother and sister-in law: Norman and (Virginia) Fosnaugh of Evansville, Indiana, and two sisters-in-law: Kate Fosnaugh of Linn Grove, Indiana and Virginia Fosnaugh of Decatur. There are also many nieces and nephews surviving. Betty was preceded in death by one daughter: Linda Fisher, three brothers: Art, Fred, and James Fosnaugh, and one sister Irene Stucky. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Marks United Methodist Church, Decatur, Indiana with Rev. Fuhrman Miller officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Decatur Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Woodcrest Chapel then visitation will continue from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. On Thursday the body will be taken to the St. Marks United Methodist Church where friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Preferred memorials may be given to the St. Marks United Methodist Church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
