Harold F. Fritcha, 81 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. Harold was born on Tuesday, January 1, 1929 in Allen County, Indiana the son of the late Henry F. Fritcha and the late Esther (Weber) Fritcha. He married the late Bernice J. Ehlerding on July 26, 1958 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble; and she passed away on June 21, 2002. Harold was a 1948 graduate of Concordia High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble. Harold retired in 1981 from Tokeim in Fort Wayne, Indiana with 31 years of service and was a longtime Adams County farmer. Surviving are his sister, Edna Gage of Fort Wayne, Indiana, two nephews, and three nieces. Preceding Harold in death was one brother, Orville Fritcha. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble. Military Graveside Services will be provided by the Adams Post 43 American Legion. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church; Wyneken Lutheran School- using the Thrivent Matching Funds Program through one of the 3 association churches; or Worship For Shut Ins.
