Evelyn L. Auumann, 88 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Woodcrest Nursing Center. She was born on Sunday, July 20, 1924 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Fred Thieme, Jr. and the late Adela (Bohnke) Thieme. She married Lester W. Aumann on August 10, 1947 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams County, Indiana. Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen and a former member of the Ladies Guild of the church. She was a homemaker and a secretary for her husband's construction business. Surviving are her husband of over sixty-four years, Lester W. Aumann of Decatur; son, Thomas Aumann of Decatur; daughter, Kayleen S. (Rick) Ellinger of Greensburg, Indiana; daughter, Janice (Tim) Grover of Decatur; sister, Dorothy Graft of Fort Wayne; sister, Bernita Harvey of Decatur; and brother, James R. (Carol) Thieme of Decatur. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Jeremy Aumann, Kellie Hadi, Brad Aumann, Shane McBride, Chad McBride, Crista Elias, Michael Grover, Tyler Ellinger, and Zach Ellinger and sixteen great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy W. and Ricky L. Aumann; a grandchild, David Aumann; a sister, Lois Graft; and a brother, Delmer Thieme. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with calling one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Peter Brock will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Bingen. Friends will be received from 11a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, July 29 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Porter Auditorium at Woodcrest Nursing Center. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church- Bingen, Worship for Shut-Ins, or Lutheran Hour.
