Wilbur F. Selking, 91 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Ossian Health & Rehabilitation. He was born on Tuesday, January 25, 1921 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Martin Selking and the late Maria (Ehlerding) Selking. He married Martha C. Franke on January 31, 1943 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ossian and she passed away on February 2, 2001. Wilbur was a liftime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Preble where he was a member of the church choir and a former member of the Couples Club. He also held several church offices including church expansion chairman in 1989. He was the secretary-treasurer of A.A.L. Branch 1514 for twenty-six years, served on the Farm Bureau board for many years, was a former 4-H leader, and a former member of the Decatur Rotary Club. Wilbur was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #43 of Decatur and he served as an Adams County Councilman from 1976 to 1980. He retired from International Harvester in 1974 and he retired from farming in 1995. Surviving are his son, Ronald (Carol) Selking of Decatur; son, Kenneth (Pendy) Selking of Decatur; daughter, Barbara Oliver of Decatur; sister, Eileen Hintz of Carmel, Indiana; seven grandchildren; Darrin Selking, Angela Selking, Shelley Moorman, Troy Oliver, Mandy Harless & Aimee Selking, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Rev. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 26 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble or Worship for Shut-Ins.
