Russell C. Jones

Russell C. Jones, 100 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville. He was born on Saturday, December 17, 1910 near Dixon, Ohio the son of the late James Jones and the late Annie Laura (Stephenson) Jones. He married Trilby M. Mueller on October 25, 1941 and she survives. Russell was a member of the Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland, Indiana; a former Big-Brother for several years; volunteered at the Christmas Bureau in Ft. Wayne, Indiana for 10 years. He graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology with an Accounting Degree and also the General Electric Apprentice School. Russell retired in 1985 after 4 years of employment as a Tool & Die Maker with W.S. Shambam; formerly employed with CTS in Berne, Indiana; General Electric; and I.T.T. He was also a farmer. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Trilby M. Jones of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Joanne M. Jones of Griffith, Indiana; Son, David J. (Ann) Jones of Zanesville, Indiana; son, Donald L. Jones of Hoagland, Indiana; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceding Russell in death were two brothers, Walter and Robert Jones; and two sisters, Eunice and Janet. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Rev. Tom Watt officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Lutheran Cemetery, Hoagland, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to The Village of Heritage Overhang Fund.
