Richard Henry Hoffman, 90 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 2:22 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011 in the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Richard was born on Friday, April 1, 1921 in Allen County, Indiana the son of the late William Henry Hoffman and the late Wilhelmina Griebel (Lepper) Hoffman. He married Carolyn Correll on February 21, 1954 in Linton, Indiana and she survives. Richard was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church - Flatrock in rural Monroeville, Indiana. Richard was a lifelong farmer. Richard served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Cathryn (Richard) Boys of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, Henry (Tina) Hoffman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, Rodney (Susan) Hoffman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Beverly Brown of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, Peter Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Pamela (Walter) Williams of Rolla, Missouri; son, Stephen (Briana) Hoffman of West Branch, Iowa; daughter, Elizabeth (Lewis) Wiles of Rolla, Missouri; daughter, Valerie Hoffman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; sister, Alice (Hoffman) Uffelman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and nineteen grandchildren. Preceding Richard in death were one son, Jesse Hoffman; one son-in-law, William Brown; and three siblings, Ervin Lepper, Velma (Lepper) Schade, and Eric Hoffman. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock 12912 Franke Road Monroeville, Indiana 46773 with Rev. Douglas Christian officiating. Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock in rural Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church - Flatrock.
