Lafauna V. Koenig, 94 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in the Select Care Speciality Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on Monday, July 15, 1912 in Van Wert County, Ohio the daughter of the late Charley Haggerty and the late Louise (Schoenstedt) Haggerty. She married the late Peter J. Koenig on March 6, 1937 and he passed away on March 11, 1961. Lafauna attended the former Decatur Missionary Church, which is now the Cornerstone Church of Decatur. She was employed at Decatur Industries for 13 1/2 years. Surviving are her son, Richard A. Koenig of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Ruth A. (Bobby) McKinnon of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, Thurman Haggerty of Decatur, Indiana, grandson, Mark (Susan) McKinnon of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and two great-granddaughters, Emily Kay & Rachel Marie McKinnon. Preceding Lafauna in death were a sister, Opal Sample and a half-brother, Bryce E. Eibling. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur, Indiana. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 18 and from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Monroeville EMS or Adams County Heart Club.
