Ida L. Danels, 75 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 4:08 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at her residence following a brief illness. Ida was born on Sunday, October 28, 1934 in Laurel County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ballard B. Combs and the late Fannie E. (Hodge) Combs. She married the late Jesse P. Danels on August 27, 1953 in Richmond, Indiana and he passed away on November 16, 1991. Ida was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur, Indiana and the General Electric Retired Women. Ida was employed with General Electric in Ft. Wayne, Indiana for 27 years. Surviving are her son, D. Kirk Danels of Van Wert, Ohio; daughter, Marla Y. Danels of Decatur, Indiana; son, Jeffrey A. Danels of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Ruth Peters of London, Kentucky; brother, Pearl D. Combs of Richmond, Indiana; sister, Marie Hutzell of Richmond, Indiana; sister, Ruby (Richard) Ogg of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Dorothy Wolfe of Pleasant Mills, Indiana; sister, Juanita Campos of Berne, Indiana; eight grandchildren: Eric Danels, Ben Danels, Josh Eckhart, Jeremy Danels, Chad Danels, Lee Audrey Danels, Zachary Danels, and Jenise Danels; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding Ida in death were two sons, Benjamin P. Danels (February 16, 1999), and Gary Danels; two sisters: Zola Clark and Suda Young; and three brothers, Jesse B. Combs, Johnnie Combs, and Harve Combs. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Whitney West officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to First Baptist Church, Decatur.
