Marjorie E. Reed, 87 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2010 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur. Marjorie was born on Thursday, June 21, 1923 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of the late Nile Butler and the late Mabel (Burkhead) Butler. She married her first husband, Ermel Shook on May 23, 1942 and he passed away on July 4, 1950. She married her second husband, Edsel E. Reed on July 27, 1956 and he passed away on July 16, 1999. Marjorie was a member of the Women of the Moose in Decatur, Indiana. She was also a member of the GECODE Club. Marjorie retired in 1983 from General Electric in Decatur with 33 years of service. Surviving are her daughter, Maureen S. (Shook) (James) Butcher of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Nyla (James) Saxton of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; sister, Shirley (Donald) Pickford of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Kay (Tony) Bidwell of Hoagland, Indiana; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Preceding Marjorie in death were one son, William L. Reed; two brothers, Bill and Ben Butler. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Ernie Feasel officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Mooseheart or Moosehaven.
