LeRoy C. Huffman, 89 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2006 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. LeRoy was born on March 13, 1917 in Decatur, Indiana, the son of the late William C. Huffman and the late Iantha (Peel) Huffman. He married Eleanor Marjorie Roehm on September 3, 1939 in Convoy, Ohio and she survives. LeRoy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur, where he served as an Elder and usher. He was PTL president of Zion Lutheran School. LeRoy was a member of the American Legion Post #43 and past Color Guard member. He was a graduate of Decatur High School and served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Puerto Rico. LeRoy retired in March of 1979 from General Electric in Ft. Wayne, Indiana with 38 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Marjorie Huffman of Decatur, Indiana, son, Dennis L. Huffman of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Jay (Lynne) Teeter of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Betty Brown of Dayton, Ohio, five grandchildren: Jeff Huffman, Ronald Huffman, Kimberly (Rob) Landrum, Mark (Kelley) Teeter, and Matthew Teeter; and four great-grandchildren: Harley Huffman, Halli Huffman, Megan Teeter, and Reagan Landrum. LeRoy was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Balsiger and Rosemary Miller; and one brother, Vernon Huffman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2006 in the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Bruick officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by Adams County Color Guard Post #43. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur.
