Maxine A. Hamrick

Maxine A. (Bonner) Hamrick, 86 years old of rural Willshire, Ohio, passed away at 12:33 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008 at her residence following and extended illness from Alzheimer's. Maxine was born on Thursday, February 16, 1922 in Huntington County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Guy H. Bonner Sr. and the late Dessie Marie (Waters) Bonner. She married the late Forrest L. Hamrick on December 24, 1941 and he passed away in 1983. Maxine was a homemaker and a dairy and grain farmer. Maxine was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in rural Willshire, Ohio; a Sunday School Teacher; and a 4-H advisor for over 25 years. In 2000, Maxine was honored as being the start of her 4th generation 4-H family. In 1978 and in 1999 as a dairy farmer, Maxine received quality milk producer awards. Maxine was well known for being a very hard worker. She was very creative in everything she did and had a great love for flowers. She treasured the time she spent with her family, friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her pet dog, Minnie; daughter, Shirley Fuhrmann of rural Ossian, Indiana; daughter, Barbara (Gary) Weck of rural Ohio City, Ohio; daughter, Janet (William) Hunter Jr. of rural Van Wert, Ohio, daughter, Crystal (Steve) Sheets of rural Rockford, Ohio, son, Marvin (partner Richard France) Hamrick of rural Willshire, Ohio, brother, Carl (Imogene) Bonner of rural Huntington, Indiana, brother, Leonard (Jean Ann) Bonner of rural Huntington, Indiana, brother, Paul (Sandy) Bonner of rural Huntington, Indiana, brother, Guy (Phyllis) Bonner Jr. of rural Markle, Indiana, sister, Eileen (Jerry) Lyon of Findlay, Ohio, sister, Alma Jean (Richard) Culver of rural Wabash, Indiana, eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren which includes Keith Fuhrmann; Joyce Fuhrmann; Scott Fuhrmann; Vaughn and Heather Fuhrmann; Myron Fuhrmann; Terry Weck and friend Susie Rhoads and sons, Zayne and Zack; Mrs. Paul (Connie Weck) Vlaskamp; Mrs. Jon (Karen Weck) Rollins and John, Jared, Whitney; Mrs. Travis (Cathy Weck) Eifert and ToryLea, William and Noelle Hunter & Maddison, Brian & Becky Hunter & Adam, Jason, expecting baby, Bruce & Emily Hunter, Mrs. Matt (Julie Sheets) Burkhart & Anna, Cameron, Mrs. Matt (Stephanie Sheets) Wood & Matthew, Layne, Natalie, Nathan, & step-great-granddaughter Emilee Wood, Eric Sheets, Erlena Sheets, Elissa (Sheets) Ball & Marissa, Leann Sheets. Preceding Maxine in death were one son, F. Eugene Hamrick and one daughter, Sarah Marie Hamrick; brothers, Emmett & Loyal Bonner; sisters, Charlotte Kizer, Tenna Mae Bonner, and infant Bonner; and son-in-law, Vernon Fuhrmann. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Rutledge and Rev. Cindy Lumm officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Preferred memorials are to Union United Methodist Church; Praise Point Church; or the Markle United Methodist Church.
