Rita Kay Jaurigue, 63 years old of Monroe, Indiana, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2009 at her residence. Rita was born on Wednesday, June 5, 1946 in Monroeville, Indiana the daughter of the late Chester Bowen and the late Bonita (Barkley) Bowen. Rita was a graduate of Monroeville High School and then graduated from Ivy Tech College with a degree in Dietary Management and Nutritional Therapy. Rita was a member of the Common Ground Church (formerly The Crossroad Church) in Decatur, Indiana serving in the Nursery and the Membership Team from 1996 to present. She had formerly attended East Liberty United Methodist Church in rural Monroeville, Indiana. Rita enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and her family. Rita was a Dietary Cook Manager at Adams Memorial Hospital from 1987-1992 and at Golden Meadows Home from 1992-2003 when she then retired. Surviving are her daughter, Amy (Scott) Gould of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, David (Alicia) Tinnel of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Cari Welker of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Janee (Todd) Nussbaum of Monroe, Indiana; daughter, Jodi (W. Timothy) Hindenlang of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Jacqulyn (Tim) Morris of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Ross (Sally) Bowen of Monroeville, Indiana; sister, Ruby (Les) Werling of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Ruth ((Rich) Hartmann of Ossian, Indiana; brother, Rex (Addy) Bowen of Woodburn, Indiana; brother, Ron (Pat) Bowen of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; twenty grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Preceding Rita in death were one grandson, Leroy Ronald Nussbaum; and one brother, Rickie Bowen (infancy). Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 in the Common Ground Church with Pastor Kevin Abbott officiating. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
