Herman "Don" Brown, 82 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2007 in the St. Vincent's Hospice Center located in Indianapolis. He was born on Thursday, January 15, 1925 in Glenmore, Ohio the son of the late Herman Brown and the late Clyve (Kreischer) Brown. He married Opal R. Bowen on December 14, 1944 in Decatur, Indiana. Don served in the United States Army/Air Force and was a staff sergeant stationed in Hawaii during W.W. II. He was a member of East Liberty United Methodist Church in Monroeville, Indiana. Don was also a member of the Monroeville V.F.W. and the Adams Post #43 American Legion. He retired from the General Electric Company in 1985 with 20 years of service and was a farmer in Adams County since 1959. Surviving are his wife, Opal R. Brown of Zionsville, Indiana and a former longtime resident of Decatur, son, James Brown of Zionsville, Indiana, son, Jerry Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother, Dallas "Dale" Brown of Poe, Indiana, brother, Paul "Pete" Brown of Ohio City, Ohio, brother, Raymond Brown of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, Daniel Brown of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Floyd (Ilo) Meyer of Ohio City, Ohio, sister, Iris Hendricks of Huber Heights, Ohio, sister, Connie Martin of Kokomo, Indiana, and four grandchildren; Chad Jeff, Lindsey & Jamee. Don was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin, Larady, Max & Ronald Brown. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in the East Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Klingel and Rev. Rick Borgman officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, May 29 in the East Liberty United Methodist Church, Monroeville. Preferred memorials are to St. Vincent's Hospice Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
