Charles Herbert Keating, 55 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on Thursday, January 21, 1954 in Janesville, Wisconsin the son of the late Eugene Francis Keating and the late Violet Lillian (Norris) Keating. He married Paula Gremaux on January 30, 2009 in Decatur, Indiana. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Moose Lodge #1311, Eagles Lodge #2653 and VFW Post #6236. Charles retired from General Motors in Fort Wayne following over thirty years of service in the facility support section and had also worked part-time at Riverview II Family Restaurant in Decatur. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer Fan (Packer Backer) and Wisconsin University Badger fan. He also enjoyed golf and the many trips to Vegas. An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed spending the weekends watching the races. Surviving are his wife, Paula Keating of Decatur, son, Dylan Gene Keating, at home, brother, Michael Keating of Janesville, Wisconsin, brother, Jeff (Rachel) Keating of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, brother, Doug (Wanda) Keating of Janesville, Wisconsin, sister, Kim (Joe) Griep of Janesville, Wisconsin and sixteen nieces & nephews. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Dave Voors officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday following visitation. Preferred memorials are to Dylan Keating's Education Fund. Serving as pallbearers will be .
