Eulogia (Logie) Adalpe Serna (78) passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur, Indiana. Logie was born on March 11, 1933 in Pearsall Texas. She was married to her husband Jesus Zavala Serna of 64 years on May 13, 1947 in Crysal City Texas. Logie was a homemaker and very involved in the community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur and the Mothers Study Club. She served on the Adams County Democratic Election Board. She was active in the Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts for many years and served as a volunteer for several years at Adams Memorial Hospital, Lakeside Manor, and Golden Meadows. Logie is preceded in death by her parents Gil Adalpe and Paulina Realme Adalpe and daughter Martha Serna. She is survived by her husband Jesus Jesse Serna and their children Angelita (Roger) Bittner, Jesse (Clara) Serna III, Daniel Serna, John (Vicki) Serna, Diana Sanner, and Arthur (Heather) Serna along with 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. According to Logie's wishes, a small family service was held on Saturday, June 25th at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. A private burial of ashes service will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetary in Decatur.
