Kathleen E. Deaton, 88 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 2:28 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. Kathleen was born on Tuesday, March 23, 1920 in Eldorado, Ohio the daughter of the late Jesse E. Parsons and the late Della E. (Arnett) Parsons. She married the late Raymond E. Deaton on February 1, 1941 in Hollensburg, Ohio. Kathleen was a member of the Living Word Temple Church in Decatur, Indiana; the Life Church in Ft. Myers, Florida; and the Christ Fellowship Church in Sebring, Florida. Kathleen retired from Decatur Casting in 1984 with 6 years of service, and had previously been employed with Schaffer Glove in Decatur, Indiana with 20 years of service. Surviving are her son, David L. (Marilyn) Deaton of Ft. Myers, Florida, son, Darrell K. (Millie) Deaton of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Leonard Parsons of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, Bonita Shellabarger of Greenville, Ohio, three grandchildren: Ryan Deaton, Nicole Kelley, and Karrie Deaton; and six great-grandchildren: Allison Deaton, Caleb Deaton, Sarah Deaton, David Kelley, Cole Kelley, and Melea Kelley. Preceding Kathleen in death were three brothers: Harold and Francis Parsons; and Arnett Bickel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Deaton, Pastor Dan Aguillar, and Pastor David Deaton officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for preferred memorials to the Living Word Temple-Decatur; Life Church-Ft. Myers; Christ Fellowship Church-Sebring.
