Howard W. ""Stub"" Reynolds, 82 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville, Indiana. Howard was born on Sunday, August 1, 1926 in Monroeville, Indiana, the son of the late George Reynolds and the late Wilma (Meese) Reynolds. He married Donna Jean Myers on September 11, 1948 in St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Monroeville, and she survives. They had been married for 60 years. Howard served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Howard was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and was the Financial Secretary for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #420; former president of the Monroeville Town Board; former board member of I.O.O.F. Cemetery which is now Monroeville Memorial Cemetery; and a former member of the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department. Howard retired in 1985 with 35 years of service from the Phelps Dodge Corporation-Indiana Rod & Wire Division as a foreman. Surviving are his wife, Donna Jean Reynolds of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Linda S. (Ben) Eder of Buffalo, New York, daughter, Carol J. Reynolds of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, William C. Reynolds of Monroeville, Indiana, sister, Mary E. (Dale) Schott of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, grandson, Mark Eder, and grandson, Michael Eder. Preceding Howard in death was one brother, Ronald Reynolds. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with the Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11-2 and 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's Lutheran Church; Village of Heritage; or the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
