Harold Glen Manley, 78 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 10:27 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur. Glen was born on Wednesday, June 10, 1931, the son of the late Chauncey O. Manley and the late Mary M. (Julian) Manley. He married Alice J. Hawkins on August 14, 1953 in Oakwood, Ohio and she survives. Glen attended the Decatur Church of God; served his country during Korea in the United States Army; he later joined the Homer Pierson Post #207 of the American Legion; and currently a member of the Adams Post #43 of the American Legion; member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6236; the Decatur Moose Lodge #1311; and the Indiana Farm Bureau. He was caretaker of the Tricker Cemetery from 1992 to present and was also a trustee of the Tricker Cemetery. Glen was owner of Manley Meats Inc. from 1956 to present. Surviving are his wife, Alice J. Manley of Decatur, Indiana; son, David L. Manley of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Marilyn (Mike) Geyer of Monroe, Indiana; son, Roger D. (Marla) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; son, Ron E. (Mary) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; son, Steve G. (Lori) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Mildred Wolfe of Berne, Indiana; sister, Velma (Jim) Penrod of Bluffton, Indiana; sister, Marcile (Leonard) King of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Kenneth Manley of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Lester (Audrey) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; seventeen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceding Glen in death were one son, Larry W. Manley; six sisters, Violet Roe, Jean Cook, Edna Manley, Mable Miller, Lois E. Kaufman, and Esther Cook; one brother, Richard Manley; and one great-granddaughter, Madalyn Faye Daggett. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Brink officiating. Interment will follow in the Tricker Cemetery, rural Monroe, Indiana. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by Adams Post 43 of the American Legion. Friends will be received from 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana.
