Dora Mae Rayl, 94 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2006 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur, Indiana. Dora Mae was born on March 10, 1912 in Adams County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Harry Suman and the late Bessie (Drummond). She married the late Thurman Rayl on December 21, 1935 and he passed away on April 6, 1993. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Dora Mae was a homemaker. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Merlin (Linda) Hedington of Monroe, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Hurst of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Rev. Harold Suman of Defiance, Ohio, brother, Kenneth Suman of Willshire, Ohio, brother, Gordon Suman of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Rev. Floyd Suman of Ashland, Kentucky, brother, Donald Suman of Decatur, Indiana, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Preceding Dora Mae in death were five brothers, Earl, (killed in action in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge), Lester, Otho, Walter, and John Suman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with the Pastor Ernest Suman officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 and from 12:00 NOON to service time on Sunday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
