Alvena Reinking, 90 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. Alvena was born on Thursday, January 24, 1918 in Adams County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Walter Bultemeier and the late Clara (Miller) Bultemeier. She married Wilbert T. "Whip" Reinking on January 18, 1941 in St. John Lutheran Church,Bingen and he survives. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen and was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Wilbert Reinking of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Grotrian of rural Decatur, Indiana, son, Jim Reinking of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Malinda Bieberich of Preble, Indiana, brother, Edgar (Geraldine) Bultemeier of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Oswald (Margaret) Bultemeier of LaGrange, Indiana, brother, Norvin "Snorty" (Ileen) Bultemeier of Decatur, Indiana, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. Preceding Alvena in death were two brothers, Walter Bultemeier Jr. and Alfred Bultemeier. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Daniel Dahling and Vicar John Wurst officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Bingen. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
