Herman H. Hamrick, 95 years old of Willshire, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the Laurels of Shane Hill Nursing Home located in Rockford, Ohio. He was born on Wednesday, April 1, 1914 in Chattanooga, Tennessee the son of the late William E. Hamrick and the late Maude E. (Cordell) Hamrick. He married Cordella A. "Cordy" Habegger on June 18, 1939 in Decatur, Indiana and she passed away on September 15, 2001. Herman was a member of the Decatur Church of God and a previous longtime member of the Union United Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the Building Committee during their construction. He was also a member of the Ohio Flying Farmers Association since 1950. He was a graduate of Willshire High School Class of 1932. Herman was trained as a machinist and worked in carpentry until the 1950's and then became a full-time farmer. Surviving are his daughter, Sharon K. (Bill) Clouse of Rockford, son, LaVerne D. (Cheryl) Hamrick of Willshire, son, Gary L. (Debra) Hamrick of Willshire, sister, Bessie Sanders of Monroe, sister, Virginia Landis of Monroe, six grandchildren; Lisa Boznango of Rockford, Jeanne (Gary) Osterfeld of Coldwater, Ohio, Greg (Kristi) Clouse of Delphos, Ohio, Michelle (Mark) Kimmel of Willshire, Curtis (Kristin) Hamrick of Willshire, & Andrea (Adam) Boenker of Wendell, North Carolina and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding Herman in death was one brother, Cloyde Hamrick. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the Decatur Church of God with Dr. Robert Brink & Pastor Mark Rutledge officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, Ohio. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 19 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to Decatur Church of God or the American Heart Association.
