Robert D. Zeser, 76 years old of Preble, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne. He was born on Saturday, November 29, 1930 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Daniel J. Zeser and the late Marie E. (Gass) Zeser. He married the late Sherian K. Drake on February 9, 1956 in Decatur, Indiana. She passed away on January 15 of this year. Robert was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion Post #43 and was a charter member of the Sons of the American Legion. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired from Falstaff Brewing Corporation in 1990 with 34 years of service. Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Kent (Donna A.) Klopfleisch of Decatur, Indiana, son, Timothy D. (Diane) Zeser of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Mark (Vickie A.) Harvey of Decatur, Indiana, son, Terry L. (Diane) Zeser of Decatur, Indiana, son, Brian D. (Cindy) Zeser of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Tom J. Zeser of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Jim (Janet A.) Cochran of Decatur, Indiana, fourteen grandchildren; Daniel Mahlan, Joseph (Sarah) Mahlan, Jennifer Zeser, Jonathon Zeser, Melissa Harvey, Brittany Harvey, David Harvey, Nicholas Zeser, Dana Zeser, Robb Kohne, Justin "Butter" Shaffer, Molly Zeser, Spencer Zeser & Parker Zeser and one great-granchild; Mason Scott Mahlan. Preceding Robert in death were one sister, Joan Fife and one grandson, Corey Shaffer. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Marys of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Dave Voors officiating. Interment will follow in the St Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the Adams Post 43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 10, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. A Rosary Service will follow visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Adams County Community Foundation " Kidney Fund.
