Ron E. Kipfer, 62 years old of Marion, Indiana, passed away at 12:19 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the Marion General Hospital Emergency Room located in Marion, Indiana. Ron was born on Wednesday, December 7, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Harold Kipfer and the late Rosemary (Crane) Kipfer. Ron was never married. Ron was a member of the Moose Lodge in Marion, Indiana and the Sons of the American Legion in Monroeville, Indiana. Ron worked at the WBAT Radio Station in Marion, Indiana where he was a disc jockey for 35 years; following high school, he attended forest ranger school in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan; following his experiences in Michigan, he attended Broadcasting School in Columbus, Ohio. Surviving are his sister, Jeannine (Jim) Long of Van Wert, Ohio; niece, Amy Carrier of Cincinnati, Ohio; nephew, Brandon (Sarah) Carrier of Cincinnati, Ohio; and great-niece, Mary Carrier. A 9:30 a.m. Prayer Service will begin Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Fr. Lourdino Fernandes officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Monroeville EMS.
