Lowell B. Noll

Lowell B. Noll, 89 years old and a longtime resident of Pleasant Mills, Indiana, passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. He was born on February 10, 1917 in Decatur, Indiana, the son of the late William M. Noll and the late Aletha F. (Roop) Noll. He married his first wife, Neva L. Riley, on December 31, 1941 and she passed away on March 7, 1986. He married his second wife,Lucille E. (Kelley) Wagner, on December 14, 1986 and she passed away on December 18, 1997. He married his third wife, Helen Mankey, on July 5, 1998 and she survives. Lowell was a member of Pleasant Mills Baptist Church; Charter Member of the Pleasant Mills Lions Club; Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion Post #43; Decatur Moose #1311; and the Limberlost Legion of the Moose. Lowell served his country during World War II in the United States Army where he received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 13 Bronze Stars; the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star and Arrow Head. He retired in 1979 with 40 years of service at the Central Soya Plant as a Quality Control Inspector and Supervisor. Surviving are his son & daughter-in-law, John M. & Judy Noll of Decatur, Indiana, daughter & son-in-law, Mrs. Jerry (Susan E.) Douglas of Decatur, Indiana, son, Roger R. Noll (companion-Dan Higgins) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Carol L. Coffield of Monroe, Indiana, daughter & son-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth (Marlene A.) Straub of Monroe, Indiana, daughter & son-in-law, Mrs. Marvin (Debra K.) Double of Decatur, Indiana, son & daughter-in-law, Duane M. & Marjiann Noll of Ohio City, Ohio, stepdaughter & stepson-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Sharlene) Royer of Moneta, Virginia, stepdaughter & stepson-in-law, Mrs. Dale (Marlene) Mankey, stepdaugther, Sandra Myer of North Judson, Indiana, stepdaughter & stepson-in-law, Mrs. Terry (Becky) Fishbaugh of Markle, Indiana, stepson, Leroy Mankey of Markle, Indiana, stepson, Gordon Mankey of Bluffton, Indiana, sister & brother-in-law, Mrs. Glen (Maxine) Gephart of Cedar Lake, Indiana, sister, Betty Goddard of Muskegon, Michigan, sister & brother-in-law, Mrs. John (Thelma) Alexander of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sister, Marilyn Price of Decatur, Indiana, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. Lowell was preceded in death by one son, Roland Noll; one daughter, Donna Lyons; five sisters, Helen & Vivan Noll; Mrs. Winston (Martha) Rawley; Ruth L. Anspaugh, Kathleen Johnson; and four brothers, Lawrence, Max, Robert, and Gerald Noll. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Sprunger officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006 and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. A Moose Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Pleasant Mills Baptist Church or Family Hospice of N E Indiana.
