Dennis C. Boerger, 62 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 at his residence. His death was unexpected and was from natural causes. He was born on Wednesday, September 21, 1949 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Herbert A. Boerger and LaVerne M. (Busick) Boerger. Dennis was in the last graduating class from Monmouth High School in 1967. He received a bachelor degree in computer science from Ball State University in 1971. He was a long-time newspaper carrier for Fort Wayne Newspapers in the southeastern part of Fort Wayne. Surviving are his mother, LaVerne M. Boerger of Decatur; sister, Sheryl (Richard) Howard of Decatur; sister, Carolyn (Sam) Harris of Selma, Indiana; sister, Kristine Boerger of Bloomington, Illinois; and sister, Patricia (Matthew) Braun of Decatur. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Herbert A. Boerger in 1994 and his brother, David A. Boerger in 1996. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling with Rev. Martin Moehring officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Fuelling. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 6 in the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling. Preferred memorials are to Worship for Shut-Ins, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling or the donor's choice.
