Berniece M. Brittsan, 92 years old of Wren, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Woodcrest Nursing Center. She was born on Sunday, March 28, 1920 in Monroeville, Indiana the daughter of the late Frank H. Laudahn and the late Ethel M. (Van Buskirk) Laudahn. She married Russell D. "Pete" Brittsan on November 19, 1939 in Monroeville, Indiana and he passed away on September 24, 1994. Berniece was a member of St. Paul Reformed Church of America in rural Van Wert, Ohio. She was a homemaker and was also employed at Decatur Industries for a short period of time. Surviving are her son, Robert A. (Carolyn) Brittsan of Carmel, Indiana; daughter, Joy J. (John) Schaadt of Convoy, Ohio; five grandchildren; Dr. Angela G. Brittsan, Dirk B. Brittsan, Janeen K. (Brian) Fights, Jolynn (Cory Mountz) Schaadt, Jenifer N. (John) Kryzanowski and three great-grandchildren; Russel D. Fights, Alek J. Kryzanowski, Aric A. Kryzanowski. Preceding Berniece in death were a brother, Frank Laudahn, and four sisters; Luella Raber, Lucille Reidenbach, Leota Newport, and one who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the St. Paul Reformed Church of America with Rev. Chad Strabbing officiating. Interment will follow in the Protestant Evangelical Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. & 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Reformed Church of America or Wren EMS.
