Ralph J. "Buck" Myers, 86 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away early morning on Friday, October 12, 2012 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville. He was born on Saturday, January 30, 1926 in Monroeville, IN the son of the late Ralph H. Myers and the late Miriam M. (Meese) Myers. He married Irene Kay Andress on June 20, 1948 and she survives. He was a member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church; American Legion Post #420 and the VFW Post #10205. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired in 1976 with over 32 years of service at International Harvester, where he was a production worker and also a mechanic. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Irene Kay Myers of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Nanette Kay Myers of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Fay (Greg) Smith of Decatur, IN; daughter, Melissa Renee Garman of Huntertown, IN; son, Timothy Jay (Tina) Myers of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Melinda Rae (Kurt) Bleke of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister, Phyllis Chausse of Monroeville, IN; sister, Harriet (Edwin) Beucler of Monroeville, IN; sister, Kay Weddle of Nashville, IN; 9 grandchildren: Nicole (David) Wingate; Jay Smith; Andrew (Lauren) Kipfer; Taner Kipfer; Jami (Dan Binder) Doutt; Jasmen Myers; Cole Bleke; Conner Bleke; and Benjamin Bleke; 6 great-grandchildren: Sydney Kipfer; Brielle Schultz; Amelia Schultz; Isaac Schultz; Isabella Myers; Gracie Binder; and 2 step-great-grandchildren: Zachary Wingate and Kennedy Lankhorst. Preceding Ralph in death were 1 sister, Jean Justice; 4 brothers, Jackie, Toby, Jed, and Max Myers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 in the Monroeville United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Walus and Rev. Rick Pickering, officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #420, Monroeville Color Guard. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the services Monday. Preferred memorials are to Monroeville United Methodist Church or Cornerstone Youth Center.
