James E. Bowyer

James E. Bowyer, 76 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Parkview Regional Medical Center. His death was unexpected after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on Monday, July 20, 1936 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Joseph F. Bowyer and the late Lena M. (Savieo) Bowyer. He married Arlene P. Nicklow on October 12, 1960 in Republic, Pennslyvania. They celebrated 52 years of marriage this past October. James served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and was a 1954 graduate of Monroeville High School. He retired in 1996 with forty-four years of service from Norfolk & Southern Railroad as a Rate Clerk. James was a loving husband, father, and grandpa to all, He was blessed with many friends and a joyful life. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, gardening, watching the Cleveland Indians, and enjoying life. Surviving are his wife, Arlene P. Bowyer of Fort Wayne; daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Kristalle P.) Dellinger (Wadsworth) of Fort Wayne; beloved grandson, James F. Wadsworth of Fort Wayne; and two granddaughters, Katelynn & Brionna Dellinger. Preceding James in death were his son, Brent J. Bowyer in 2004 and his sister, Julie Ann McDougal. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Rev. Ralph Klinker officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery with full Military Gravside Services. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. & 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, November 19 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville. Preferred memorials are to VA Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
