Frank Magner Jr., 90 years old of New Haven, Indiana, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his residence. Frank was born on Wednesday, January 18, 1922 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Henry Frank Magner and the late Silvia (Seitz) Magner. Frank married Luella Wilhelm on June 5, 1946 and she passed away on November 18, 2011. Frank was a member of the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana. Frank served his country during World War II in the United States Army, 1st Armored Division; 16th Engineering Battalion Armored; 151st Airborne Tank; 748th Tank Battalion. He was awarded two bronze stars. Frank maintained equipment at B.F. Goodrich retiring in 1987 after 25 years of service. Surviving are his daughter, Colleen Fuelling of New Haven, IN; son, Jim (Joyce) Magner of Ft. Wayne, IN; son, Steve (Sue) Magner of New Haven, IN; daughter, Carol (Dan) Barthold of Ft. Wayne, IN; son, Michael Magner of Ft. Wayne, IN; 14 grandchildren: Laura (David) Hockenberry, Janet Lowe, Thomas Lemons, James Lemons, Brian (Jeni) Fuelling, Kellie Stolte, Andy (Kandi) Magner, Josh Magner, Abram Magner, Aaron Magner, Tannum Barthold, Adam Barthold, Bobby (Nicole) Millet, Mellissa Millet; 18 great-grandchildren. Preceding Frank in death were one daughter, Barbara Lemons; one grandson, Kenneth Norton; four brothers: Arthur, Albert, Elmer, and Jack Magner; and one sister, Dorothy Dixon. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Military Graveside Honors by American Legion Post #43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in The Village of Heritage Nursing Center in Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Wounded Warriors or Parkview Hospice.
