Lorine Hoffman, 91 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur. Lorine was born on Sunday, June 19, 1921 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Henry Erxleben and the late Emma (Westphal) Erxleben. She married the late Walter Hoffman on June 19, 1943 in the parsonage at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim and he passed away on October 13, 1991. Lorine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble where she was involved in the sewing society. Lorine was a homemaker. Surviving are her son, Duane G. (Jackie) Hoffman of Decatur, IN, daughter, Laverne K. (Richard) Borne of Decatur, IN, four grandchildren: Todd (Tina) Hoffman; Kimberlee (David) Vitatoe; Micah (Amanda) Borne; and Joshua (fiancé P.J. Smith) Borne; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding Lorine in death were five brothers, Ervin, Ernest, Lorenz, Albert, and Arnold Erxleben; one sister, Jennie Selking; and one grandson Lucas John Borne. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Dr. Rev. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble.
