Stanley J. "Deak" Gallogly, 82 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Adams Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on Wednesday, October 22, 1930 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Dewey Gallogly and the late Hazel (Smitley) Gallogly. Deak served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #43 in Decatur. Deak retired in 1993 from Decatur Industries with fourteen years of service. He had also worked part-time for St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery for fourteen years and part-time for Ted Hakes from 1995 to 2000. In his retirement, he cut & split wood for sale. Surviving are his former wife, E. Frances Bowman of Decatur; son, Ronnie (Nam) Gallogly of Decatur; daughter, Debra Schwartz of Decatur; granddaughter, Kacie (David) Schultz of Avon, Indiana; grandson, Corey (Abby) Schwartz of Rockford, Illinois, four great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Annabelle, Charlotte Schultz & Ellie Schwartz and daughter, Barbara Wilson of Indianapolis. Preceding Deak in death were two brothers, Dore Gallogly and Lawrence "Bing" Gallogly and two sisters, Betty Andrews and Claudine Noll. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Decatur Cemetery with Military Graveside Services to be conducted by American Legion Post #43. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 6 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation-Cancer Fund or the donor's choice.
