Deane D. McMillen, 85 years old of Willshire, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 in the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, where he had been a patient for four days. He was born on Sunday, April 10, 1927 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Glenn McMillen and the late Berniece (Nuttle) McMillen. He married Hazel A. Strickler on November 20, 1947 in Willshire, Ohio. They celebrated 65 years of marriage this past November. Deane served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #207 in Willshire, Ohio. Deane retired from International Harvester in 1982 after twenty-five years of service. Prior to International Harvester, he had worked at the Schaefer Glove Company and had also built several homes in the area with his brother, Dick. Surviving are his wife, Hazel A. McMillen of Willshire, Ohio; son, Terry (Beckie) McMillen of Rockford, Ohio; daughter, Teresa Bischoff of Angleton, Texas; son, Tim McMillen of Willshire, Ohio; son, Mick (Julie) McMillen of Convoy, Ohio; and son, Tony (Kelly) McMillen of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Betsy Schoenleben; Kelly Sipe; Andy McMillen; Courtnee McMillen; Lindy Bilimek; Stephanie Coyne; & Megan McMillen and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding Deane in death were his brothers, Richard "Dick" & Robert "Bob" McMillen. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors by American Legion Post #207 of Willshire. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 9 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Wren-Willshire EMS, Praise Point Church, or the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
