James H. Hitner, 54 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on Friday, September 19, 1958 in Berrien Springs, Michigan the son of the late Herman Hitner and the late Margurete (Rodgers) Hitner. He married Paula Van Pelt on January 22, 2003 in Sarasota, Florida. Jim served his country in the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Paula Hitner of Decatur; daughter, Shelly (Mike) Campbell of Fort Wayne; daughter, Christina (Don) White of Decatur; daughter, Becky Eyanson of Decatur; son, Jim Hitner, of Ohio; son, Nick Hitner of Ohio; son, Dan Hitner of Chicago, Illinois; step-son, Alex Cox of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Lauren Cox of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Mallory (Red) Relyea of Fort Wayne; brother, Glen Hitner of Fort Wayne; brother, Andy Hitner of South Carolina; brother, Jerry Hitner of Florida; sister, Barb Porter of Texas; sister, Linda Simmons of Florida; sister, Margaret Miller of Florida; eight grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to memorial visitation on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to donor's choice.
