Estina M. Veit, 86 years old of Fort Wayne, and a former longtime resident of Hoagland, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Sunday, July 11, 1926 in Monroeville, Indiana the daughter of the late Orville C. Hoffman and the late Lela G. Hoffman. She married Paul C. Veit on June 6, 1948 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock and he passed away on November 26, 1993. Estina was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock in Monroeville, Indiana. She was an accomplished musician and played the accordioin for "Touch of Music" group for eighteen years. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Hoagland High School Class of 1944. Surviving are her daughter, Linda S. (Vern) Stemen of Monroeville; son, Stan P. (Kathy) Veit of Hoagland; daughter, Darla J. (David) Taylor of Monroeville; daughter, Marla J. (Thomas) Brenneke of New Haven; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding Estina in death were a sister, Geraldine R. McIntosh in 2006 and a special friend, Tony Harkuszewski in 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Rev. Douglas Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurses; St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock; or Audiences Unlimited.
